GAVIN JAKE REED

Gavin is one of our most frequent fronters, along with Piper. He came out of dormancy/hiding in June of 2020 and has been one of our most frequent fronters since, to the point of getting frontstuck for an entire month in 2020. He's universally dubbed the resident little shit- He's incredibly chaotic, impulsive, and potently gremlin on first glance.

Past that, though, he's really one of the most emotionally grounded alters here. He's helped us out of very rough spots several times over by asserting boundaries, teaching us how to do so ourselves, and teaching us what it means to value ourselves enough to protect and take care of ourselves. There's ice in his veins beneath all the layers of humor and sass, but he uses what he's seen and what he knows to the benefit of himself and those he cares for. He's really a chaotic older brother figure to the system.

Originally, he was a gatekeeper- He still is by all means, but he's chosen to mostly abandon that role in favor of being a 'jack of all trades', so to speak. He can handle host responsibilities where needed, he's a fantastic protector and caretaker, he uses his internal knowledge and higher access to help us where he can.. etc.

He loves pizza, weed, shitposting, Technoblade, and 100 gecs. He spends a fair bit of time drawing, playing video games (Especially Rain World, Risk of Rain 2, and Hades), and just socializing with our friends. He's one of our most social alters, honestly. In contrast to Piper, he can't stand bitter food.

As far as internal relationships go, he's dating Horizon, views Piper as a brother in the found family way, and is very close with Caroline. Him and Caroline used to be constantly at each other's throats in 2020- Presently, they've found peace with each other (albeit, while still arguing with each other sometimes) and often cooperate to work on important things behind the scenes- The two are incredibly protective over each other, despite their occasional mutual hostility.

He's, again, a very efficient protector and can operate very well under duress. He's incredibly kind and generally gives great advice and comfort when we're struggling. Sometimes, during breakdowns, he'll come into front and do breathing exercises or other simple grounding mechanisms to teach us how, because apparently he's.. pretty good at them. He used to struggle very badly with low self esteem, but he's presently come a very long way and quite honestly has the best self esteem out of any of the main fronters these days. He struggles to let his guard down a lot more than the others, though.

Questionably a subsystem, as much as he tries to act like he isn't. Godspeed, dude.
